The Best Time of Year is Approaching!

My family recently visited me in Paris and I made the risky decision to send back all of my heavier winter clothes back with them. And with the frequency of me arriving to my classes after my thirty minute walk, struggling to not break out in a sweat, I am so glad that I did.

The winter cold is finally starting to say its goodbyes and I could not be any happier. Goodbye to the heavy winter coats and having no choice but to wear tights almost under everything. Hello to long flowing skirts, short sleeve shirts, and the occasional sandal!

Now of course I myself have never visited much less lived in Paris during this time of the year so it is hard for me to accurately illustrate what kind of clothing trends we will be seeing during this time, but I have a feeling I can make a pretty educated guess solely based on what I am beginning to see in various storefronts.

While the classic chic Parisian look has lived up to its expectations of neutral colors pulled together in an elegant way. I have a slight feeling that Spring is the time of year where we will get to be seeing just a little more color. Not in a lets bleed out our highlighters all over a clothes kind of way, but in a pastel and soft girl aesthetic kind of way. As I embark on my walks to school, I have been noticing mannequin after mannequin sporting beautiful long and flowing skirts. Some of these skirts containing springtime floral prints and some of them simply colored, but in soft pastels. Having lived here for most of the winter, I have noticed that the Parisians are big fans of the long skirt in general, I myself have purchased at least five whilst being here. So with the sun coming out more frequently, the gardens beginning to open up, and the flowers approaching their time of bloom, what better way to welcome the spring than by matching its vibe through an all around favorite piece of clothing. I give myself about a week before I cave in and start buying these floral skirts, and after writing this I doubt I will even be blinking an eye as I do so. The best time of the year is approaching! We have to celebrate!
