That's a Wrap on Haute Couture!

It has almost been a whole week since Haute Couture Fashion week has ended and I am happy to say that I was able to scope out two of the shows! While I am not one of the fortunate individuals who got to be personally invited and receive a gift bag, it did not stop me from standing to watch as the audience arrived to the show.

Standing outside in the freezing cold in front of the Le Grand Palais Éphémère for the Chanel Haute Couture show, I was able to see Sadie Sink, Roger Federer, and the one and only Anna Wintour. With Sadie Sink being one of Chanel's newest ambassadors, everyone was anticipating her arrival. As for Roger Federer, I cannot say that I am too caught up to date on his endeavors and what the tennis world entails, but I was delightfully surprised upon his presence and I enjoyed seeing this athlete get dressed up for the event. And of course Madame Anna Wintour is always guaranteed a seat, and while her presence was expected, it was still an unreal experience to see such an icon in front of my own eyes.
The second show that I miraculously stumbled across was the Fendi Haute Couture fashion show. I had very high hopes for who was going to be attending this show due to their second year guest appearance and I was not disappointed.
With stars like Sarah Paulson, Rita Ora, and Kerry Washington arriving under the flashes of the paparazzi's cameras, everyone was in such a frenzy. The fiery energy in the air almost made up for the fact that it was so cold to the point where you were questioning whether or not your fingers were still there. Everyone in attendance showed up in a fabulous fashion, but my personal favorite was French Designer Olivier Rousteing. He walked into the show with an exuberant confidence and easily stole the attention of the crowd. His name had come up in conversation only hours before and it felt like fate for me to be seeing him, almost like a moment of déjà vu.

The only potentially negative thing that I have to say about the Fendi show is that so many people showed up wearing the same exact outfit. Rita Ora and Courtney Love were sporting a similar look and a large array of girls ended up wearing these silk turquoise jumpers. You could even see them scattered throughout the audience during the livestream, which if intentional, was really good marketing. I am unsure if this was planned, but it was interesting nonetheless. I am not sure how I would feel showing up to an exclusive event wearing the same outfit as someone else times five, but then again I'm not the one being invited to the Fendi Haute Couture fashion show so what do I know!
Overall, even though I was an outsider, I had a grand time just being in the same vicinity of these events and I am sad to see it all come to an end. However, this makes me even more excited for Women's Paris Fashion Week and with it being in March I am hoping that my fingers will be remaining intact!
