I recently took a trip to London and was recommended to pay a visit to Harrods, one of the prominent department stores in this beautiful city. Upon my arrival I could not help but think of the Galeries Lafayette. Each floor of the store was categorized with shoes, bags, accessories, clothes etc. and it was as if almost every designer brand had their own miniature store dedicated to specific items within Harrods.

While the store did have everything that I could have possibly ever wanted available at the tips of my fingers, I could not help but feel very overwhelmed and almost claustrophobic while I was in there. The ceilings felt like they were very low in certain areas and I am not even fully 5'1. I wish I had a map of the floor plan so that I could maybe understand the layout more because my brain could not keep up with where I was at with every corner that I turned. Safe to say that I did not last very long in this store.

Then there is the one and only Galeries Lafayette. With its architecture inspired by the dome shape of the opera, its beauty already speaks for itself. And just like Harrods, almost every designer, high fashion brand that you could think of has their own miniature section within this building. So you get to do some serious damage to you bank account while getting to enjoy an amazing view.

Now this may sound biased because Paris is my home at the moment, but I have spent a lot of time in London and I absolutely love visiting there. However, if I had to choose between Harrods or the Galeries Lafayette, the Galeries Lafayette is going to win every time. Especially when I can take all of my shopping bags to the tops of the store and get a breathe of fresh air as I take in the the view of Paris.
