Do The Colors You Wear Matter?

My favorite color is pink. My favorite color to wear is brown. My favorite nail color is red. My best friends’ favorite color is yellow, but she always buys green and paints her nails dark red. My mom’s favorite color is green, and she always buys white clothing, but her bedroom is painted pink. Even though we may not realize it, colors often send messages subconsciously about how we feel, want to feel, or want to be perceived. Why do we gravitate towards specific colors, and what vibes are they giving off?
RED: Red is often associated with romance and passion. When one wears red, it makes a bold statement of elegance and playfulness. It is best to wear red for interviews and dates because it illuminates strong will and confidence. It will admirably draw attention, commanding the room and its energy. Red is a great color to wear if you wish to appear as someone who is not scared of strange or new things, only excited by them.
ORANGE: The faded, autumn-like tone of orange presents itself as soothing and cozy. On the other hand, bright orange exuberates positivity and ambition. You can appear cheerful and motivated by wearing a striking shade of orange.
YELLOW: Yellow can boost your mood and improve concentration. On days when you need to be productive, wearing yellow could be the boost that you need! The color yellow makes you appear happy, vivacious, and as though you are always laughing.
GREEN: Green is often associated with money, generosity, and balance. Those who gravitate towards green appear generous with their time and financial resources. It is the perfect color to wear in the office, at business meetings, and casually. The vibe that comes off is serene and soft. If you are drawn to green, you are perceived as a very caring and giving person who is charismatic and mysterious.
BLUE: Blue exuberates a calming yet confident presence. This color causes the body to produce chemicals that have calming properties. So, it is best to wear it when you may be nervous. Those who gravitate toward blue are often loyal, peaceful, and successful. It is often associated with intellect, which makes it a smart choice for a job interview!
PURPLE: Purple has been associated with the finer things in life; it has always had a regal undertone. While luxuriousness, and purple's most well-known association can also make you appear creative. This color is popular for people in positions of power and those with eccentric personalities. When going to a formal event, wearing purple can help you command the room's attention.
PINK: Pink exuberates harmony, acceptance, and love. People will feel safe and welcome because this color exemplifies a kind and genuine persona. It is calming for the eyes to look at and makes you appear approachable.
BROWN: Brown signifies a stable and reliable person who is very down to earth. There is an essence about the color brown that radiates strength, independence, and stability without coming off too strong. It can make you perceived as a gentle soul with a good head on your shoulders. Brown is the color of the peacemaker. So, if you are walking into a charged situation, you can wear brown to relax the energy and act as a mediator.
BLACK: Black is the color of total confidence. It is luxurious yet intimidating and mysterious yet powerful. When choosing the color black, you are choosing confidence and strength. Although it may be intimidating to some, it is the right choice for special business occasions when you need to appear put together and in charge.
WHITE: White is the color that society chose as a representation of the transformation of life; it is the color of new beginnings. We associate white with weddings, babies, and overall purity. It is soft, inviting, and clean.
GRAY: Gray conveys a calming and soothing presence. When wearing gray, you are choosing to appear helpful and relaxed. There is a down to Earth presence about the color gray that may be boring to some, but overall exuberates consistency and kindness.
Of course, wearing what makes you feel confident in your skin is essential. This is not an end-all-be-all definition of each color but rather an analysis of psychological tendencies. Buy the things you love and let your unique personality speak for the rest:)
